A new solution to the "jacked up" truck

I know that I will be corrected if I'm wrong but so what. I have owned several pickups since 1965 and my Brother gets a new truck about every three years do to very high mileage and we both agree that truck bed side rails have gotten higher over the last decade or so. I am 6'2" and Bro is 6'4", his latest F150 is so high he has to open the tailgate to get stuff out, whereas before we could just reach over the side rail. I see more and more goosenecks out here that in the past. I don't think they can get much higher but for the high centered trucks, what else can you do.
