If Winnebago did buy GD then the QC will be in the toilet as FR or THOR bought Winnebago I believe. Regardless we when we were shopping for our current 5er we looked at Winnebago and the quality was worse than most.

What are you going to put in the garage?

We had a 2016 Grand Design 380TH with a 11ft garage, separated by a sliding glass door to the living area. It was nice. The deck (ramp) was nice to hang out on too.
My wife saw a Solitude 374 with the front living room. Very,very spacious living space compared to the 380TH. Yep. That's what we have now. The garage is under the bedroom and will barely hold the Victory street cruiser.

Riverstone makes a nice front living room and so does Montana.

Take your time and pick the right one. It really hurts the pocketbook buying the wrong one first. KEN

We have a 2014 Heartland Cyclone 4000 we fulltime In. If I had it to do over today I would be looking at a DRV Fullhouse at the very least. The next step would be to spend the money on a custom one from New Horizon.

As you can see Grand Design has a loyal following, KZ is not too far behind. Brands that don't punish you for full timing in at least some of their models also include Crossroads, Jayco, Winnebago, and Keystone. You will have to look at each to determine what portions of the units they cover for longer periods under what terms.

Might look here, I love my KZ. Has not been trouble free but none are and everything has been covered by warranty. KZ also warranty's two years even with full time living, many will give no warranty if you live in them.

Whatever you decide upon for an RV, buy it a year ahead of your FT timeframe to give you time to work out the bugs. You dont want to spend time in a hotel because your new rig is in the shop for months.

I would go Grand Design if I were full-timing it. Or as mentioned, the sky's the limit if your budget is. But assuming you don't want to spend 100k+, Grand Design it is.

There's also some custom builders out there that build some very nice high end fifth wheels, don't have names.

FR did not buy Grand Design - Winnebago did. So far, GD is still operating independently and nothing has changed as far as their quality or customer service. We full-time in a GD Reflection and will be moving up to a Solitude after the first of the year. We know lots of folks full-timing in GD Momentums and like them. One couple we know even winter at ski resorts in Colorado in their Momentum (I think one of them might be an instructor or they just work the resorts).
