Sounds like the thermostat is telling the a/c and heater to come on at the same time. If nobody has messed up the wiring, I suspect the thermostat. I replaced my rv thermostat with a $20 Hunter walmart digital. Best mod if ever did. I love the one degree variance and no more bumping the thermostat trying to get it to cycle. I just have to keep 2 AA batteries in the thermostat.
