On poor roads my fiver can get swaying almost as bad as a tag trailer when the bike is hanging off the back. Without the bike on the back it is hard to tell I'm pulling anything even on those same poor roads. Cost is the biggest obstacle I have to adding a third axle. The three axles could easily be mounted on a 2 x 6 x 1/4 wall rectangular tube sub frame and a third wheel well could be formed in the fibreglass skirting on the trailer.
Mine will sway a tiny bit. I think it is a combination of all the weight on the back and the lighter pin load on the truck. Adding the 3rd axle should decrease the sway.
You've got a lot of weight on the back of your trailer. I'm surprised you haven't had frame issues. What size beams does your trailer use ?
Why do you need to buy 3 axles ? Don't you need just 1 new one ?
You can buy triple axle wheel wells.
I built a sub frame for my torsion axles. I wrote that project up on rv.net If you search you can find it.
Here it is. https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/23960591/srt/pa/pging/1/page/1.cfm
I just need 1 additional axle, two alluminum rims with tires and the lower skirting of my trailer has 2 wheel wells formed into it ... to retain a neat factory look I'd want a fibreglass shop to form the new openings. My trailer's frame rail is about 15" deep with a 2x2 square tubing underneath. If I add a third axle I will remove the 2x2 and replace it with a 2x6.
