Additional fuel carrying capacity on pickup

I have motorhomed for years with 100 gal diesel tank. Now have 5er with Ford F-350 diesel with 20 gal tank. Miss the old duel tanks on fords of yesteryear. What have you all done to get more than 200 miles between stops? 5 gal cans in bed? Messy. Looking at 50-75 gal transfer tank in pick up bed but can’t find one short enough that tonneau cover will cover. Any ideas?

  • F350 superduty lariat diesel with 6 foot bed. The def tank takes the space of the 37 gal tank on gas models
  • This is just a curiosity question... do you have a SRW shortbed? My 2012 F350 has a 37 gallon tank.

  • The 26 gallon tank is a definite PITA. There are some underbed options, if a bit pricey. I carried a 35 gallon aux tank on the Alaska trip, but really didn’t need it.
  • Jerry. Believe it or not it is 20 when empty. Makes no sense to me and I been a Ford guy since 1974!!!!
  • It is bad, but may not be that bad. I'm thinking you have a 26 gal tank.

Some one else may have an idea for adding capacity.
