Advice on 25-30 ft 5th wheel with rear opposing slides

I have been searching for a 25-30 ft 5th wheel with rear opposing slides and under 7500uvw. Any advice?

I've been rving about 12 years and have had 5 rigs--most larger. I've decided to downsize and lighten for travel to Canada and Alaska and then to use this unit simply for short trips--not fulltiming. I have a 38ft Teton for full time. Just looking for something that is easier on the road but still roomy and light so I don't get cabin fever.

I know Jayco makes one around 33ft but I really want to keep the ACTUAL LENGTH under 30 and the UVW under 7500 and REAR OPPOSING SLIDES IN LIVING AREA. Does not have to be new--but newer than 2006 or 2007.

Thanks for any ideas and advice. NO--NOT INTERESTED IN CLASS C, motorhome etc--I am a dyed in the wool 5th wheel type of gal

  • We have a 2013 29RES and really like it. It has three slides, 15K AC, full table/chairs and comes with a full queen size bed up front. It really fits us as we are on the shorter side, not needing the 13-14 foot tall trailer. Because it is the X-Lite Series it will have a lower ceiling but still all the slides and goodies.
If you are serious check out Scott at Pete's RV on the net as their brand new prices are insanely cheap. We got ours from him brand new 2 years ago for under $24k.

  • Keystone has several in their Cougar XLite series. All range from 6700# to 7800# depending on the floor plan. They do range from 31-33 feet in the style that you are looking for. Have a friend that has the 29RES model and loves it. Tim
  • Check out Rockwood/Flagstaff. Some say it is cheaply made, but we have had no problems and it certainly tows easily. Ours has all the factory options.
  • What about a KZ Spree 265rl. I know they are under 30 ft. but not sure about the weight.
  • That size and weight is going to be tough. That's really large for that light is, well, tough
