Oppose slides

Good morning folks ---

Quick question I have a 2014 T.T. Minnie Winnie with oppose slides. ( I hope I am spelling this right ) anyway I read the manual and it does not says anything about taking one slide out at the time. Can I take both side out at the same time? ( Which I have done a couple of times ) Will I do damage to the slides by doing this?:E

Thank you for any advise.

  • Opposing? advice?

One at a time. They pull a lot of amps. I can't imagine why doing both would even be considered.
  • Like the others, one at a time is probably better. Another note, especially with bigger slides, is to have a window or door open when extending or retracting slides. Amazing how much air is being moved and need to either come in or go out. Try it, you will notice the difference.
  • For maximum current availability, I would operate them one at a time.

You mean press both buttons at the same time?

    Yes, Doug33.
  • I was told during the PDI to only put one slideout at a time out to avoid harm to the motors.

Those are Schwintek slides on Winnies. They use a rail system that requires power to the small motors mounted at the top ends of both slides. Once you hit the button, you should not stop the movement part way or you risk them going out of synchronisation.

With this in mind, I would put out each slide individually because they need all the power they can get, especially on the way back in. You want to mitigate any opportunity for 'stalling' especially if your battery(s) is a bit low.

I have them on mine also and I put them out one at a time.
