Another vote for a dually. The 250 is out. and you won't really notice the difference in ride comfort between the two anyway.
They both usually have the same CGVW. I bet you are close or over that with the trailer loaded, full fuel tank in truck and couple of things in the bed.
If you can handle the dually, go for it. Ours is my daily driver. I just finished a 4 day/2000mi drive from WA through MT and back and it wasn't a bad ride. Little rough in some of the expansion joints that are set up just right to wreak havoc with the long bed, but otherwise not bad.
Like said before, a 250 will pull it but wont carry it.
One last thing, don't rely on the salesman to tell you if it will tow it or not!
