My best friend ( also retired) just purchased a new 39' Montana.
He has no previous rv experience.I believe he plans to buy a new truck and is looking for some input from experienced people like all of you folks who have "been there done that". I know he has heard several ideas from sales people and a couple truck owners and is undecided if a 3/4 ton is a good choice or if a 1 ton is needed. Does not want a dual tire truck and is looking strong at a dodge 3/4 .I will help him get on line to this forum so he will be able to digest your advice and comments.
I have a motor home so I sure cannot even suggest anything other than safety first and be sure you can stop it. I know he will be making some cross country trips (midwest to west coast)
Thanks
dave
Your buddy is squarely in 1T territory and, most likely, dually, as well. You'd need to post more info on the FW for any of us to be sure. I know =I'd= be using a dually were I inclined to go that big, though, I've seen 1 or 2 nice 4500-series SRW trucks.
