Air Conditioner Keystone Montana

We have a 2014 3625 Keystone Montana Big Sky with two AC units. Our rear AC only runs at high speed and is very load..
Our living room AC seems to only run on low and will not cool down our rig on a hot day and dealer said there is no blocked ducting, They ran a camera through the duct and found nothing. We are told since there are two AC this is normal. Can anyone shed some light on the air conditioner. We believe the fan speed should operate on both units not just one speed as we being told.

On our 2011 Cameo both the bedroom and the living room Coleman units have thermostats. They also have low/high/auto settings.

  • are you sure it has 2 speeds? my dometic has only 1 speed. My thermo has only auto or on and that is not a speed. a model # whould be great and then you could look up on Google and get a wiring dia and see how many speeds you have
  • Had a 2012 3625RE and there was only one thermostat and only conrolled the rear a/c fan. The 2014 Redwood 38GK has two thermostats and can control the fan speeds on each.
Had no problems with the Big Sky, just the floor plan did not suit me nor the "J" sofa. Otherwise it was a great unit with only 4 minor problems covered under warranty.
  • Well, I'll tell ya....

Having had a Montana open the ducts / ac covers and get a mirror and a flash light.

Look up and down the duct work using mirror and flash light like a periscope. You will probably find duct work has collapsed during manufacturing. You will also finds voids and blown sealing, just from the factory.

Run your fingers around the AC/duct connections and your gonna find your trying to AC the whole ceiling, not the coach.

    Good luck!
  • I own a montana..what type of thermostat do you have..you should be able to adjust your fan speed from auto, high or low..

if you set your a/c to low you will freeze your system up and then it will blow loud..
  • what brand of AC's and thermostat do you have?
In our Class A, we have 2 Dometic AC's and the 5 button Comfort Control thermostat. Our AC's work on either fan speed. Auto, low, high. The newer AC in the front also has a med fan setting. We usually have them both on the same setting (auto).
