Air pockets on roof

I was up on my roof today and I noticed a lot of bubbles on the rubber roof I had it treated and cleaned earlier in the year is it normal to have air bubbles in the rubber

  • What did he clean and treat it with? Wrong cleaner could cause the glue to let loose..

Because the elasticity of the EPDM (rubber) material isn't enough?

(assuming you have an EPDM roof of course.....)

If that's the case, I call BS on that one.

    Huh?
  • Mine is unglued all along the edges. I ask the dealer and they said there are needed for expansion and contraction.
  • Getting a rubber roof to lay perfect is not easy but shouldn't be a problem for roofs that are installed in a controlled environment. a few small bubbles should not be a problem but anything else is poor installation and should be watched. Use a sharpie or other magic marker to outline the bubble and make sure it doesn't grow over time. If it does then I would slice it open make sure it is dry and re-glue the section then patch over the slice.
  • Same here.Ive had 4 campers now. Each one has had atleast one bubble.
  • I have a few small bubbles on my roof and dealer said it was normal, owners manual also states this is normal. Dealer said if they get bigger then it would be an issue. They have stayed the same size for two years now.
