It looks like if you drove enough miles they could be worth it. It would just depend on your increase in fuel mileage lived up to what they claim.
Humm....interesting I did not see that they were not to be installed on flexable roofs. I wonder what they mean by "flexble".
In either case I would expect to put them in place with the adhesive and them anchor them with a SS woodscrew into the plywood roof.....much like skylights, vents. etc. are done on our roof.
I am not sure our roofs qualify as flexable. They certainly are a flexable membrane glued to a rigid wooden base. The entire roof is pretty sturdy and inflexable. My guess is they are talking about a roofing material that would buffet up and down...IMHO without being anchored, they could loosen the glue bond between the rubber/pvc and the wood on our roofs.....
