We have a 38ft Alfa 5th wheel (not a toyhauler) I can answer a couple of your questions.
The units are well built and hold up well. Our is a 1994 and has been off road many times when we were involved in off road racing for a couple of years. We have taken it on a couple of 7000 mile trips around the US. We use it at least once per month and at least twice per year for 2 to 6 week trips.
We did have to flip the axles to get it up high enough to ride level and clear the truck bed rails.
There is a group of ex-Alfa employees who run an Alfa Repair business east of Los Angeles. It's named Alfateers. They can supply parts and answer questions.
