Am I getting a good deal?

The OP mentions that they are starting to have a bigger family unless I am wrong then that means kids.

For us the 3 factors in our 5th wheel were, Room with a Real door for the kids, (bunkhouse), Opposing slides with couch across from TV, and Kitchen space...

Just bought our 340bh Montana a month ago and LOVE it...

Also the same old nagging question, can your truck tow the 5th wheel you want to buy?

we bought a 2015 montana with the front living room this spring (3711 I think is the model)

if I use my numbers as a reference you should be out the door (TTL included) for a 3711 with legacy pack and still be under $65k

I would not pay more than $20,000 less than MSRP. Keep looking, honest dealers do not sell at MSRP

I don't know the specifics of the rig the OP is looking at. But if they have done some basic research into pricing similar units and the price is in line and the rig is the floorplan and size they are looking for, they should feel confident in purchasing it and enjoying it. If their catalyst for a purchase is a consensus from the members of this forum that they are getting a good rig at a good price, they are never going to buy.

As the OP can see all you are going to get is post after post of how this rig is better and no matter what the price is, they know you can get a better deal. If these forum members had been negotiating when the Dutch bought Manhattan from the Indians, they surely could have gotten it for 15 beads instead of twenty. Here Hear, That also was a deal breaker for us.
We looked at units where you had to sit straight up on the couch or living room chair to see the TV over the dinette!

Just think about the time you will spend in it, watching the television! Other than bad weather, I consider that we are either out side ,weather permitting or sleeping inside. Separate bath is also a must in this home. Also doors, not curtains separating bedroom and living area, doesn't cost much if any more!

Yes I agree with the angle of the TV. This was our number 1 priority was to get a 5th wheel that had seating directly across from the TV.

We all would like to think when we go camping we stay outside 100% of the time but when its raining or football is one I will have a beer in my hand watching TV.

I am going to stay away from the infinity based on the comments on this post.
I would perfer to go used to save money but I just cant find that much value in a used unit. People want to much money for the used ones it seems like.

For instance, a new unit might be $59k and someone wants $51k for that same unit used.

I get its a 8k cost savings but when I am in the 50's I would go new over used unless im saving 10k +

I offered that up as food for thought. New RV'ers may not consider it. 2 other things we looked for were kitchen/fridge/bathroom access with slides in and a large shower, no bath tubs for my size beer storage container.

It would be interesting to put together a list of things that folks look for in an RV and why. Then a new rv'er could look at the list and prioritize things according to his/her preferences. A lot of the more experienced RV'er look at things differently than the bling they are trying to sell. No RV is going to have everything for everyone but by having a list you might find things you haven't thought about. TV placement is an example.

Absolutely! Walked in and out of many units because of the angle of the TV.
