An E at 65 psi has the exact weight rating as a D at 65. But if you can run 70 to 80 then you have some additional margin.
X2, I am running Maxxis E's at 70 Psi and gained reserve capacity to match that of my wheels. Running less than the sidewall max is Ok as long as the maker gives you real ratings to work from. My wheels do not list a max psi but they do have a max rating and that is what I was matching the E tire too. Hold out for the Maxxis!
