In addition to tire cooling, your X-chocks loosen up due to leaf spring settling - I believe. As leaf springs straighten out under load, they move apart. After you park, you get in the trailer and start moving around, jiggling stuff, rocking the rig side to side, and the springs settle ever so slightly. Plus, your chocks are pushing outward.
That's just my theory. Never heard anyone mention it before.
