Mine is at the front of the bed by the cab. It's a little too far forward as I now have to use an extension on my trailer cable to reach it. The reason the installer suggested it by up front is that if you put a 4 wheeler in the bed, often the 4 wheeler will destroy the plug if it is in the back.
