I installed mine in the left rear corner also. I didn't have a hole saw big enough to drill the required hole so I just mounted a bracket like you would use on the bumper. Just mounted it to the side right by the tail gate. I then used a plug and play harness I got off of ebay and ran the wire up the inside of the bed and out an existing hole. Works great and I now have two seven pin plugs to access.
