That area of Indiana used to be the center of RV production in the US. Still a lot of RV's built up that way.

Yes dry weight...for some reason I thought 3/4 ton truck meant 3500. The whole 3 thing. But yes a 3500 duallie (one ton) is the right way to haul something this size. I like the Ram since the Cummins is known for it's quality and durability, and apparently Dodge is the only company who cares that people still want to shift their own gears...like I did during my 6+ years as a local Class A driver. Control is a good thing lol.

Yes 20 gallons of hot H2O was another option he recommended and I agree. My wife prob would not enjoy a suddenly cold shower lol. And 16 cubes is the size of a good ol' sticks n' bricks frigidaire. Not in the slide however to keep the weight down and sliding fun up.
It's 55 cause NA is the factory, so a customer is buying direct from them to avoid super-slick RV sales dudes and expensive golf cart rides around a dealership. And if driving to Indiana from Arizona to haul back your new 5er doesn't sound like fun don't ask me what fun is ;-)

Now comes the fun part of selling our current hoarded items storage unit and financing a 3/4 ton duallie to haul our financed 5er. Lol.

For 55 grand that sounds like a good price to me. But I could be wrong I am Canadian and paid a lot more for my Cedar Creek.

I would get the 20 gal HW heater too.
That was a nice available option.
And if you are full timing in it see if they would put in a residential frig to go with the 30" stove.

So after an hour long conversation about what my custom 45' 5er from NA would include, I learned quite a bit...
12 inch I beam frame chassis, three 7,000 axles under a wood constructed frame.
R14 insulation in the walls, with an R38 foil wrap in the floor and roof.
Gel coated 'smooth' fiberglass exterior.
8'6 high living room ceiling, 7 foot tall in the living area slides. 3 total electric slides (!), 7 foot ceiling in the master bath and bedroom. King size bed and full size tub as well. Stacked washer/dryer in bathroom.
Central A/C with dual 15,000 btu units, vented floor heat 40,000 btu furnace. Ceiling fans in master bedroom and living area. 4 rooms total, master and second bedroom, full size walk thru bathroom and large living area :-)
Also full size 30 inch stove and 16 cube fridge. Get it...cube and fridge?
About 55 grand checking in at 16,000 lbs.

Full time living.......
How is this custom rig made?
Vacuum bonded, aluminum siding?
What size main frame?
What type of insulation?
Is underbelly enclosed?
Does it have heat source to underbelly tank/valve areas?
Is the attic area ventilated?

Just what do you really get for 38 large in a custom build large 5vr?
