IMHO people should try going without an extra tank and just pack a 5 or two and see how it goes before spending the $$$.
CTD from new in 2005. (Stock tank is 34 gal)
Carried *one* 5 gal (portable) tank for several years.
Used it once - only because I passed on a station where I didn't like the pump access.
Soooo I added a 10 gal RDS tank for my "backup" - and use a transfer pump (if needed)....
Have *NEVER* needed it.
Only time fuel gets transferred, is when I figure it's due for a "refresher refill".
Could easily do without it.
Agree with - - Try before you buy!
"PPPP-ROOF" - is a no brainer!
(Proper Prior Planning Prevents - Running Out Of Fuel)
How many miles do you want to travel -
before you need to get out and stretch your legs? -and/or-
save a few bucks on the "best" price of fuel?....
(you usually find/see a better price "just down the road" anyway).....
-vs- the extra weight and/or space lost for the extra tank..:@
Whatever yanks your fuel hose..:C
