- Blanco1ExplorerI'm talking about something more like this!
http://www.sailingbreezes.com/sailing_breezes_current/articles/jan17/moving-a-trailer-with-finesse-has-never-been-easier.html - Blanco1ExplorerFunny how the topic from a hand dolly that helps you park you trailer in tight spaces to a tow Dolly that is basically what big rigs use to tow the 2nd trailer when towing duals.
The one you guys are talking about towing a 5th wheel with out mounting a 5th wheel.
The original post was referring to A HAND DOLLY that allows you to park your trailer into a tight spot by hand without a truck.
This 5th wheel You guys are changing my topic to in NO WAY would make backing my 5th wheel trailer into a tight spot that I may not be able to do hooked up to a truck.
In fact would likely make it impossible! - mowingmanExplorerA brand called "Automated Safety Hitch", actually makes a lot nicer one than this one shown here. It is heavier built, and has a ton of nice features. They are very popular in this part of the country and used on both gooseneck and fifth wheel setups.
- justmeExplorerHow much do these things cost?
- 5thwheeleroldmaExplorerHave been wishing for something like this. I have to back around a corner and up about a 20 degree sloped driveway into a level RV shed.
Hard to do, for me, but I bet that dolly could not handle the 20 degree slope and trying to control the 14000 pounds of weight. Probably the RV would end up in my neighbors house. - Ed9824vExplorer

I wonder how much the hitch weight would typically be of a 30 footer?
Last night while trying to sleep all these ideas were running through my head.
Could I get an old beater golf cart & mount a 5th wheel on it to move it around?
Or would simply collapse the golf cart?
Or could I pick up one of the tiny fork lifts cheap?
Open to ideas
If the one that Ivylog gave the link to is not commercially available, I suppose I could get one fabricated for me?
a good figure is 20% of the total weight. for the tongue weight - Blanco1ExplorerI wonder how much the hitch weight would typically be of a 30 footer?
