Early production (thru 2015) 6.7L engines had an not too uncommon issue that was really not the engine but rather then Bosch CP4.2 fuel pump.
This fuel pump was a problem in every engine it was put it, VW, Audi, etc -and- Ford.
The problem was bad enough that the "Feds" made Bosch give them a report on the fuel pump, it was not a bad enough problem to issue any recalls though.
The problem is Ford sometimes, not always, found reasons to void the warranty. The reports from my VW/Audi friends is that VW and Audi fixed every engine that this fuel pump wrecked.
The reports are the Bosch has "fixed" what ever the issue with the fuel pump was.
