I will post my $0.02 worth. First, Ford spent Millions on Warrenty for their IH diesel engines, so they had to put a break on it. Their new Disel is a good engine, BUT and I do not know if this is Ford or Bosch, but the fuel pump will not tolerate any water. I have heard that Ford will automatically cancel warrenty's if water is over 2% in the fuel. The problem, in the US up to 6% water is allowed in diesel fuel. In Europe it is much lower. Perhaps, Bosch did a redesign, or Ford added more water separation capability, the newer engines seem to have far fewer problems.
