- rattleNsmokeExplorerI bought a Radio Shack Indoor\Outdoor digital temp display with a wireless transmitter. I have the transmitter in my propane compartment laying on the tray and the display is mounted with a 'Command Strip' on the wall between the table and sofa. Mount your display in a lighted area so you can see it at night. That was somewhat a challenge. The unit was cheap and works real well.

I'm thinking about installing a weather station in my Fiver. Anybody have pics or advise on brands and install advise. I'm not to handy to put it lightly
If you have a Barometer, you will need to adjust the Altitude Setting constantly when you travel or it will not be accurate. - cpaulsenExplorerI use one from AccuRite....rain gauge and wind sensor...was about 90 bucks at Lowes. Mounted the rain and wind sensor to a pole and used a concrete form stake in the ground and the pole just slips over the stake. Have never had one "lost" or stolen yet
- pconroy328ExplorerOregon Scientific and LaCrosse are "consumer grade" gear. Don't get me wrong, I have a LaCrosse. It's good enough for me but I wouldn't consider it accurate or precise.
If you want to pop a few hundred dollars then there's Davis and Peet Brothers. And a few more.
If you want a station that a meterologist would be content with, then you're in a fora grand or more. - pizzaguyExplorerTwo good brands to look for are Oregon Scientific and LaCrosse Technology. I mounted my remote on the back side if the pinbox to a junction box of the umbilical cord. Works well and if it would fall, it will fall in the bed of the truck, The other advantage is the reading you get will not be in the sun.
- VeebyesExplorer IIKind of pointless to have anything fancy in a RV.
The anemometer is useless because we are seldom out in an exposed area. We are parking in all different directions. We can use our ears as a rain guage.
The barometer is nice but that does not need to be outside.
The outside temp is good to know but the problem is mounting the sensor someplace where it is not going to part company with the in & be miles behind you. Mounted mine in the propane tank compartment. Not perfect but not insulated from outside either. - FLY_4_FUNExplorerI got mine from the folks below. I had the main unit on our table, a sensor in our storage bay, and another under the rig. All are moisture resistant and gave good numbers. No wind/rain sensors for me....I can figure that stuff out on my own.
Pick your price point and have fun.
