Kinda hard to answer your questions "I would sincerely appreciate your input regarding hitches, towing issues, areas you couldn't go, etc.." Since you did not even say what RV's you are considering or if the truck is a 2500 or 3500. Lots of info could be had with more info on your part. You may think you have it all figured out but someone may give you some info that may be very helpful.
This isn't about me, it is a question to others towing a wide body 5th wheel with their short bed truck.
If you tow a wide body 5th wheel with a short bed then your experiences would be helpful. Otherwise your replies are not applicable.
