We pull an Artic Fox 27-5L with a 2016 F350 short box crew cab and an Anderson rail mount and could not be happier. 8000 miles this summer and 33 different campsites and not one issue. It will not go to 90 degrees but I could care less. When I got the trailer in June I took it to a dirt lot to see how far it would go. When I saw how much it was twisting the axles I have no interest in turning that far.
The Andersen Ultimate is definitely on my short list, along with the B&W Companion, if I don't end up "needing" a slider.
So many great reviews from folks with lots of pulling time, running rigs way heavier and longer than I'm looking at, so I feel pretty comfortable with it.
The last 5th wheel had a cody coupler that I built into something very similar to the Reese Goose Box... I think Reese saw what I built... roflol!
I did some off roading with that 5th wheel, and definitely the ball coupler has a huge advantage in articulation.
While there are absolutely no plans to do anything but smooth paved surfaces with the new 5ver, sometimes just pulling off the road to get out of someones way, can create a fairly articulated angle. Plus there is nothing else as easy to remove from the bed. That is a huge plus.
I could sit in a nice shaded chair with a cold beer, while the girlfriend pulled that hitch out of the back of the truck.
I've always wanted to live in a dog house. ;)
