I tow my Momentum which is 102" wide with a '17 F-350 saw crew cab short bed and it tows just fine. I use an Andersen hitch and can make a 90 degree turn, but just barely. With the Andersen hitch, you can mount the pin adapter either in front of or behind the pin to get the clearance you need.
Nice Toy Hauler! :)
From what I've *read* long Pin Boxes can take advantage of mounting the adapter to the rear to keep the Pin Box from damaging the side bed-rails.
I've also found a couple of guys who run a 4" offset ball in the bed, to move the hitch back, and then run the Pin Adapter to the rear to bring the pin forward the 4".
I *think* the success of this would really be application dependent, as the load center in the truck is still shifted back.
Yes the offset ball would work, but already having the picture frame adapter to fit my factory pucks ,I went with the rail mount, although I never would have went with the gooseneck anyway.
I was holding off on getting the Andersen rail mount hitch. Was told directly by Andersen in Idaho Falls that they were coming out with their hitch that mounted to all four corners of the OEM puck system . The time they said they were going to be on the market has long past. Finally this past summer I bought the Andersen rail mount. Its been nearly 18 months that I was told this, whether or not they will actually come out with it ,who knows. Its been almost a year since they said it would be on the market.
