Have had 5 motorhomes and now we are on our second fifth wheel.
The fifth wheel is much easier to maintain. The truck is easier to get service on. Much more room with the 5er. And I find I have just as much storage room in the 5er as was in the motor home. Most of what goes wrong with the 5er I can usually fix myself. The motor home
is much more complicated with a lot more parts in it to break. The fuel mileage with the truck & 5er which is 40Ft is usually 10.5 to 11.5MPG. With our diesel pusher motor home we would get 7 to 8 MPG.
Also the 5er tows great and handles great. We are happy in our 5er and will never go back to a motor home. Hope this is of some help for you.
