Had 2 motorhomes over a nine year period and the cost of maintenance, tires and repairs wore me out. It was a hard sell with the wife but she is very happy with the fiver. Going down the road is not as convenient for the passenger but in my opinion that is one of the few areas where a motorhome has an advantage. We have auto level on the Winslow and set up is very quick. Downside is the size of the truck over a toad but I can handle it. As someone else said you can buy a pretty fancy truck and a very nice fifth wheel for much less than a nice dp. I have a friend who just bought a used 2012 40 footer and he has about $45K more in his rig, not including his toad, than we do in ours. For him money is no object so he gets what he wants. If money were no object I'd have a Prevost.
