No problems turning with the shortbed, but I'm using a SuperGlide hitch. The front of the RV is cap style with relief for shortbed trucks, but my in-bed tank and pump is exactly 14 inches aft of the cab, the same distance the Superglide moves. The hitch is mounted in accordance with SuperGlide's instructions, right over the axle.
Although the truck is very stable when towing, I would not be comfortable with this heavy of a coach without the 19.5 inch wheels. I've got 1700 pounds of excess tire capacity instead of being 1200 pounds over.
