Are the trailers hitch adjustable for truck heights?

Or must the truck be adjusted to keep the nose of a 5th wheel level?

My Truck is not lifter but does have a tall stance.

& wonder about the height of the truck its 5th wheel adjustability vs the trailers adjustability to keep it all level as you drive down the road?
  • Most hitches and pin boxes are adjustable. The issue is to maintain proper bed rail clearance while leveling the ride of the trailer.
  • If your truck has a tall stance, chances are you will have to lift the 5th wheel in order to get the proper bed rail clearance and keep everything level.
  • Don't forget your truck will squat a couple of inches when the FW is hooked to the truck.

Blanco1, I tow with the same generation of Dodge/Ram 4X4 as you do. Mine is a 2500 with Tow and Camper Packages, so stock sits a bit high in the rear. You don't state what size 5er your are looking at mine is a 32' Keystone Copper Canyon we run about a 2,400# to 2,600# pin, so we get about 1.5" to 2" squat/leveling with the 5er attached. I have currently about 6.5" of 5er to bed rail clearance, and the 5er is level. We did install a Correct Track system on the 5er to get the final 2" of 5er lift to level the package.

Shorter 5er's typicality sit a bit lower at the pin. My Ram unloaded sits about 58" at the Tailgate.
