I've seen a few unbalanced TT tires during our travels. It's a nasty sight. The driver in the TV never sees or knows about the chaos going on behind him/her. The tire is bouncing wildly, stressing the entire axle in every direction. Can you imagine the wear & tear, and damage, even after a few hundred miles?
On occasion we hear about folks who find broken hangers and leaf springs on their TTs. Wouldn't surprise me if the root cause of some of these failures were due to unbalanced tires.
I glance at my unbalanced trailer tires in my towing mirrors every few minutes out of habit, and I've yet to see them do anything but spin smoothly.
