If it is a great deal for the 30', aka a deal you can't pass up, get it and stick to more local trips until you can find a bigger truck. You can pack smart and only fill up the water tanks at your destination. The 7.3 is a good engine but not as peppy as a modern diesel, you will be taking your time and enjoying the scenery anyway.
