Attitude toyhauler charger/inverter issues! Caught fire!!!

Having issues with my inverter/charger that's in my attitude toy hauler. It's been plugged in for months now and just Saturday we went Up to Hollister Hills and after being plugged in for about 12 hours it was about 1030 at night I looked inside as the light As the lights dimmed a couple of times. I thought it had come unplugged but that wasn't the case it was fine. Shortly after saw smoke coming from the breaker box/inverter charger to go inside and see fire on the inverter! What would cause that? Help needed please
  • Sounds like your trailer battery is dead and probably your converter is too.

Where exactly was the fire? Any chance of getting a photo of where the converter caught fire?
  • It's a 2006 19ft attitude toyhauler. I'm pretty sure it's a converter because I took it out and now all I have is 110 power. No 12 vdc. I didn't see any loose wires but maybe there was. Everything works when plugged into my truck just not when plugged into shore power.
  • What make / model? Are you sure it's an inverter and not a converter?

    Regardless, neither should catch fire.

I'm guessing loose connection on a wire and the insulation caught fire.
