I am always surprised at the roads in Europe , for that matter in many places we have been around the world . South America , Asia , Africa , how narrow they are.
Some roads we drove in Ireland they were so narrow we scraped the brush along side the road to avoid cars coming the other way , and being on the wrong side of the road didn’t help :B
Get on Google Earth street view & have a look at our roads in Bermuda. Most are less than 20' wide. No shoulder. The edge of the road is either a wall or bushes. Maximum size cars permitted slightly larger than a Toyota Yaris. A 1500 pickup looks huge.
When a truck & bus, both small, pass in opposite directions it is not uncommon to see one mirror pass over the other.
Been to some of those islands , they are narrow . Some of the back roads in Costa Rica were pretty narrow that we drove with a rental car .We have been on some tour buses in some of those countries , and they are some talented drivers to get those buses around. In Rome I was amazed at their skill.
