I went back to the storage area last night to have a look and to check to make sure the king pin wasn't buried in the dirt. Found the front landing gear had dropped almost 3 inches in a 24 hour period. I contacted Lippert on the phone and talked to Taylor, he told me to check the screw on the valve on the LG. I checked and made sure it was fully backed out. Hooked up the trailer and ran all cylinders in the fluid level was perfect. I looked at all cylinders visible and cannot see any signs of leaks. The guys at Lippert seem to think we have a cylinder bypassing inside. I went back at lunch today and found it had only dropped 3/4 inch in about 18 hours.
I agree we should take it back to the dealer, however it has been there 4 weeks in the total 6 weeks we have owned it. I also have a big trip coming up in a couple of weeks that has been planned for a very long time, that I do not want to have to cancel because the dealer is backed up, or cannot fix our unit in a timely manner.
Thanks again for the help, I plan to remove some oil from the reservoir and add fork oil tonight and see what happens.
Frankly, I'd =insist= that the dealer get this in and out PDQ. Hell, it's a 2 hour job, MAX, to remove the oil and put the proper stuff in, so you could even wait for it. IMO, if it takes longer than an hour, they're slacking off. When I was still farming, I could change the engine oil, replace the filter, replace the hydraulic filter and top off the hydro oil, replace the air filters (2) and lube an entire tractor in about 45 minutes. Your job's a piece of cake...but I'd =still= make the stealer do it.
