I went back to the storage area last night to have a look and to check to make sure the king pin wasn't buried in the dirt. Found the front landing gear had dropped almost 3 inches in a 24 hour period. I contacted Lippert on the phone and talked to Taylor, he told me to check the screw on the valve on the LG. I checked and made sure it was fully backed out. Hooked up the trailer and ran all cylinders in the fluid level was perfect. I looked at all cylinders visible and cannot see any signs of leaks. The guys at Lippert seem to think we have a cylinder bypassing inside. I went back at lunch today and found it had only dropped 3/4 inch in about 18 hours.
I agree we should take it back to the dealer, however it has been there 4 weeks in the total 6 weeks we have owned it. I also have a big trip coming up in a couple of weeks that has been planned for a very long time, that I do not want to have to cancel because the dealer is backed up, or cannot fix our unit in a timely manner.
Thanks again for the help, I plan to remove some oil from the reservoir and add fork oil tonight and see what happens.
If your trailer is dropping that quick you definately have something going on there. I can understand you not wanting to get "involved" with what could be a long drawn out process however you are chancing it for sure.
If you decide to take your planned trip I would have plenty of blocking to keep my trailer from drifting down too quickly and not being able to get under it with your truck when it's too low.
One other "trick" you may want to try..... With your truck under your trailer and hooked up run your front jacks down to the ground, just barely touching them to the ground. Do NOT put weight on the jacks, then run them back up all the way. Do this three times, by doing this you will "re-seat" the seals inside your jacks. That might work for a while but eventually you're going to need service of some type. Doing this helped me out for a few weeks but my problems re-surfaced and I had no choice but get the jacks worked on.
