One major problem with pulling up on boards, I bought a unit with auto leveling so I didn't have to carry around a lumber yard with me. Yes I have a few pieces to put under the jack pads if need be, but nothing for the tires.
Now if I were doing maintenance like wheel bearing, I'd use the jack to raise the unit, then put my heavy duty jack stands under the frame, same as you would do if working on a car or truck.
