Right rear leveler not retracting fully

Hello all, I'm a newbie to RVing. I have a 2007 Four Winds Mandalay 40H. The rear right leveler is not fully retracting. It seems like it should go up about 4 more inches.  And, consequently, my level down light is blinking and beeping continually. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? And if so, what was the fix/repair and cost.

 All information is greatly appreciated.

  • Figured out the problem. A piece of the metal underneath was catching one of the springs and was stopping it from retracting fully. Thanks all for the responses

  • It's weird but I can see something odd. I didn't see it before because if I want to click in a link I always right click and open a new tab. So if I click on the link it gives me the same access denied message. But if I right click the link and open in a new tab it opens up properly.

  • Do you know the brand? Possibly labeled on the control panel.

  • forst question is what leveling system, is it electric or hydraulic, and what model

  • Hmm, try this one.

    Try this link

You might need to otherwise do some searches on the forum for posts from doug and levelers. You can also search with this. Just copy the below into you favorite search engine and see what it shows.

  • The link won't let me view it. Said access denied or page no longer exist

  • Maybe try this thread, pay attention to the posts by dougrainer, he was a long time poster who has been in the RV repair industry for over 40 years.

it gave me the same response so I am not sure what's up with that.

I think he was referring to a test for your seals in the rams where you extend them all, but that wouldn't bee a problem for retracting, that would be them dropping on their own.  if you take a 2x4 can you pry it up?  and if so does it stay up when you do that?  you might have to get someone to hold the retract button while you do it, or you might not.  normally hay jacks on motorhomes have springs that pull them up and if you have a broken or week spring this will happen. it could be other things also like the system not dumping all the fluid out of the jack, but the spring is the easiest thing to check first.
