Ours is losing the first layer, i thought it was a rip too...Its not, its the death of an awning.....We need a new insert soon, good news they are just a hair over $220 for the whole deal...... - DirtclodsExplorer IInayther thank you and others I'm going with the tape as a temporary fix. - naytherExplorerI know its not in The O.C. but I have a friend at Van Nuys Awning. He's repaired many and even made one or two for friends using the good Sunbrella fabric.
What he does is sew on a short section of new material where it attaches to the coach, that's where they usually rot out.
PM me if you want more info. You can remove the awning and take it to him so you don't have to lug the trailer and back it into his yard. - Y-GuyModeratorI used some White Duct Tape on mine slide out awning 4 years ago, still holding. However if I had Awning Repair tape I would have used it.

- 2oldmanExplorer IIProbably aweing repair tape.
