Here is why I asked:
Mine gets out of alignment occasionally and it's the top that slides backwards.
I simply lift up the front arm a foot or two while my DW starts to roll up the awning.
By the time it gets rolled up, it has pulled the awning forward on its own.
Very easy to do.
One note is that there is not a set screw on the front of my awning to keep it from sliding forward.
There is a screw at the back, but it does not go through the awning fabric.
I should get up there and screw it in place, but have not had any help to do it.
And this is so easy I have put it off for a couple years.
The screw should NOT go thru the material....just next to the edge of material into the tract/grove.
