Axles

This may sound pretty basic......but I'm wondering how you determine axle rating (5K vs 6K) on a trailer? If looking at a manufacturer's website and they don't list that for a particular fifth-wheel, how do you know? Thanks in advance for the help with this.

    I had to call Dexter with the numbers off mine to find out exactly what axles were under my toyhauler.

    On your own trailer? Crawl under it and look at the aluminum tag affixed to it.
    Otherwise the label on the trailer that gives weights will also list it.

    There will be a metal tag on the axle tube itself that will list the rating serial number etc.
