Good trailers. I was at the factory yesterday and saw an Axxess finished with white exterior rather than the standard reflective finish and I have to say it looked pretty awesome.
Sorry I have no real input on your questions. Although I don't see why you couldn't do your own insulation. There is also very few connections/lines on the underside of the trailer. On my VRV everything is in the front of the trailer in the storage area.
