Ok guys the wife and I are really looking hard at the livin lite 6.8. We also like the travel lite 770, but the quality is not the same. My main question is at what year did livin lite go to a ruber style roof. We are looking at new or used. I know the new all have the new style roof but the used ones might have the aluminum roof. Also I'll save some cash with used and because of durability I will not worry about being used. I also love the queen bed in the 6.8

Maybe if you called a dealer they could tell you. We have had ours since March 2013!

I believe that Northstar Truck Campers are built in Iowa. You could check them out. Nothing wrong with Livin Lite but make sure it will carry enough water and the gray and black tanks are big enough for you.

I think as long as you get a 2014 or older model, you will have Aluminum roof. Some early production 2015's might also have AL roofs during the transition over to the "rubber" roof design.We love our 2013 Livin Lite 10.0. So far not one single problem with interior doors or latches or anything. Is holding up extremely well.We did have one small pin-sized hole in the Al roof where something from under it was protruding up and caused the hole to form. A little Eternabond tape was all it took to fix.Our holding tanks are very, very small, 7 gal. each; the 28 gal fresh water is OK with me. I might be switching them out for larger ones soon.I will also be using the "generator" compartment to house extra batteries for longer dry-camping capabilities. I do recommend Livin Lites. All the rot stories from other brands make me cringe.Del

In regards to new vs, used. History teaches, most often with used, there's more afixen then awanderen.

If your able, new will usually get you out and about more often, tho you will, for sure, have some warranty work to deal with. Dealer service ability is an important consideration IMHO!

My wife is the same way. I took her with me to look at a new Livin-Lite and wound up with a Northern-Lite instead. I guess that's what happens when you have a dealer in your area that carries most makes/models of TC's.

I drove 500 miles for mine. The guy was cheaper than anyone close to me.

I like my 6.8 but the dinette mod I did made it waay better. If you cannot find it on here I'll email you it.I would also get the cassette toilet option too. Mine has the aluminum roof. I have seen quite a few used 6.8's.

I look on craigslist and the websites of dealers. Right now there are three livenlite campers I'm looking at. save a lot over new. Wife is just set on new. If you are having trouble looking in you area go to (all craigslist).

Where would you find a used one anyway? Finding a used camper of a specific brand, model, and year is like finding a needle in a haystack. With used campers you're limited to what's on the market. You might get lucky and find exactly what you want right away but that's unlikely.

Besides, if you have your choice of used campers in a specific brand and model, I would have to question WHY that is. What's wrong with them that there are so many available?

My Livin lite is early 2015 Feb. aluminum roof, no problems except the fridge would not stay cold when traveling kept heating up but now fixed the problem so other than that no problems and definitely a well built TC, love the floor plan and lots of room.
