back-up camera for 5th wheels

I came across a Voyager three camera system that was being used in a 5th wheel. The information given was general, and I would have liked to have seen a video of this product in use. Does anyone have a camera system in their 5th wheel? If so what are your comments on it? The system I saw had a monitor that came with it. Instead of this monitor, could the system be attached to an existing navigation system within the tow vehicle?
Thanks for your time with my questions

  • You guys got me thinking. My backup camera is in my tailgate which I remove when towing because I use a V gate. When the stock gate is removed, one should be able to run a connection from the unused harness to a camera on the fiver. Ya think?
  • If you Nav system has a video input it will work. That is how I use my GPS for my back-up camera. You will need a switch to send power to the camera and that will make your Nav system go to your back-up camera.
  • It all depends on your nav system. It may not accept another input, but then again, it may. Check with your truck manufacture.
  • I have seen some units with the cameras displaying on the nav unit but my understanding is it takes a lot of modification IF the nav unit isn't built to use multiple cameras. I have a Camco unit with the capability on the monitor to use 4 cameras at once(splitting the screen) or roll through them. I just mount the monitor over the nav screen with 3M industrial velcro when needed.
