3) If your tires are ST tires I suggest replacing them with quality LT tires in the weight range you need

Again, I am not trying to beat you up.. this situation stinks. The Fifth wheel is easily fixable with the little grimlins... You need to be 100% confident in your truck though.
If you have a 6.0 the head gaskets blowing are symptom.. if you don't fix the real problem then you could (will) blow another head gasket, especially if you have tuned it.

Thanks for some great advice. I just spent 7800 getting the truck "bulletproofed". It included aftermarket head studs - a known issue with the 6.0. I also went back to a stock tune. The extra power and additional 3-4 mpg was nice, but not if it's going to blow the head gaskets.
I purchased two ST tires to replace the two that blew out. I don't plan on taking any long trips for awhile, but before I leave I'm going to get a new set of four LT tires. It seems to cost me 1200 dollars in damages every time a tire blows. I might as well spend that amount on reliable tires and forgo the headaches of being stranded. It never happens in a good place.
