I got 2 6v golf cart batteries (true deep-cycle) from Sam's Club and am very happy with them. If I had about 80-100w of solar, I'd be power-independent when boondocking when no A/C is needed. As it is, I've got 45w of solar and it gives me about 1-2 extra days when added to my batteries at full charge.
