battery location

The wet cell batterys that most people use gas so they need to be kept in a ventilated space. The gas is flamable.

AGM (absorbed glass mat) batterys can be mounted anywhere. They are sealed & do not vent gas at all. They are commonly used in cruising boats because batterys are sometimes located in places other than the engine compartment. They are maintenance free. No water to top up. They can be mounted any way you please. Even upside down. They give 2-3 times the lifespan of wet cell batterys. They are not cheap like wet cells but all of the advantages more than compensate for the added expense for some.

am ordering the sealed boxes. but now if sealed, how do I run the cables from box to box.

I see it is mentioned that not only venting at the top but also tubes extending down the bottom for draining battery spills. the tubes I see are
2" holes size. . that seems to be a big hole in my metal bottom. if I put in 4 boxes, will that effect the integrity of my metal bottom. and if using plastic boxes, do I really need it.

I used this white box for my sons GC2s. It was an easy job to seal and vent this box. The two batteries fit nicely in the box with no wasted space.

There should be an recessed area the front stroage area front door under the overhang.



You should be able to tie into the existing vent line and add more plastic battery boxes across this area with tubes extending down the bottom for draining battery spills.
