I had the same problem and replaced the battery on the fiver. The battery was the origional group size 24 from the maufacturer and was over 5 years old. I ran down to walmart and got a group size 29. I have not had a problem since. As a matter of routine we run the fridge while u/w without out any ill effects or noticeable drain.
