BAttery replacement.

Most FLA or AGM batteries have shortened lifespans due to over discharge, lack of full and complete regular charging or poor maintenance. The stock converter chargers in many RV's don't do a great job getting batteries to 100% and many don't do equalization charges. In addition the standard battery monitors give poor information as to state of charge so you are basically guessing leading to the batteries easily becoming discharged too low.

If you want a battery that will last many years go with lithium and also install a true shunt based battery monitor.

Wet cell batteries typically will go 5 to 6 years if you do not abuse them and maintain them properly.

How you use the battery, care for the battery, type of converter/charger, will all make a difference on battery life.

I purchased my current FW new 8/15/2012, at which time a single Interstate RV/Marine battery was installed. It is still in great shape, works like new. I only had to add water one time, after using a different charger, while battery was stored for Winter. That was five years ago, and water in battery is right where it should be last week, when I installed it back in my FW.

Lifespan depends on the battery and technology. 5 to 6 years is typical for a well cared for battery. Some go longer. Some last shorter. An electrolyte tester is the best way to determine the health of a battery. AGM and maintenance free batteries are difficult to test.

I went to golf cart batteries and have been satisfied.Wish I could afford Lifepo batteries.
